Julie Heffernan's artwork makes me very uncomfortable. After seeing a few of her pieces I just couldn't take it. They harken back to Vanitas still lives, which we did drawings of in class, but these Vanitas are anything but ordinary. I feel so sorry for the woman in this painting, who looks so graceful and content despite what's going on. This scene is just disturbing.

Julie Heffernan's artwork makes me very uncomfortable. After seeing a few of her pieces I just couldn't take it. That's horrible. Bizarre art, for sure. Granted, the lines and the drawing itself is very talented, but the representation is just horrid. Perhaps there is a bit of truth in this, that we sit back peacefully while death is all around us in this fashion - but still....
